Take Your Dog To Work Day

Today is Take Your Dog to Work Day, the unofficial holiday that invites employees to bring their canine companions into the workplace. Started in 1999 by Pet Sitters International, the day is designed to celebrate the bond between people and their dogs while promoting pet adoption from local shelters.

In participating offices, the usual hum of emails and conference calls is now mixed with the sound of paws on tile and the occasional bark from under a desk. Dogs are stretched out near office chairs, wandering between cubicles, or quietly observing meetings from the corners of boardrooms…
