Bro. Canhoto was elected an officer of Mount Olivet Chapter of Rose Croix in 2024.
Alfredo was born in the Azores, Portugal and grew up in Fall River where he joined Scouting and became an Eagle Scout in 1988. He attended the University of Massachusetts – Amherst where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and later the University of South Carolina – Columbia earning his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and later did a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School.
Alfredo was raised in Middlesex Lodge in 2005, rising to Master in 2009-10. Alfredo served Grand Lodge as a Grand Steward, District Deputy Grand Master and finally as Junior Grand Warden in 2023. He is also a member of several other appendant masonic bodies and social groups.
Alfredo lives in Framingham with his wife Laney and two daughters Carolina and Ellie.
