Myopia This Sunday

The Family Life Committee Myopia Polo Club event is this Sunday, September 29, 2024. Gates open at 1:30 p.m., brunch will start at 2:00 p.m., and the match starts promptly at 3:00 p.m. We are asking all attendees to arrive no later than 2:00 p.m. The committee would like to remind you that this is an adult only event and attire for the event will be business casual with jackets, however morning coats are suggested but not required. Suitable attire for the ladies with FLATS, no high heels.

From the Archives: Mackey’s Jewel

Thank you to the staff of the Scottish Rite Museum and Library for their continued great work. In addition to writing articles on pieces, they have been hard at work switching both the library and archive online catalogs over to new platforms, so be on the lookout next spring for the completion of the projects!


On February 12, 1867, Dr. Albert Gallatin Mackey addressed his brethren at the Annual Grand Convention of the Most Excellent Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of South Carolina in Charleston.  Mackey (1807-1881) was the presiding officer, or Grand High Priest, of the Grand Chapter.

The 2024 Abbott Scholars

Charity and giving back to the community are important bulwarks of Freemasonry and Scottish Rite. Giving to the next generation is a small, but important act we do to help make a better future. In Scottish Rite, we do this through the Abbott Scholarship, and The Council of Deliberation has been hard at work reviewing applications. We are pleased to announce that the following individuals were awarded Abbott Scholarships for the 2024-2025 school year.
