Christmas and Hanukkah Party Tomorrow
|
Tomorrow, December 16, 2023, is the Family Life Christmas and Hanukkah Party! As a reminder for those who got tickets, it is from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Burlington Marriott. If you were not able to register and pay for tickets, unfortunately, you cannot attend, we had a hard limit of 200 guests. There will be NO tickets available for walk-ups.
The party is a gathering of brothers and their families to ring in the holidays in a relaxing way, without needing to worry about cooking or hosting.

Treason Against the Crown
|
During the Boston Tea Party celebration at Grand Lodge tomorrow, December 16, 2023, Boston Layfayette Lodge of Perfection will perform one of their public degrees: Treason Against the Crown. Curtains drop at 10:00 a.m. sharp.
As we all know, the Thirteen Colonies won the American Revolutionary War but this was no easy task. When they took up arms and committed the nation on a path to freedom with the stroke of a quill, independence was not a foregone conclusion. The Founding Fathers pledged their “lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor” to the effort.

Obscure Holiday: Ugly Sweater Day
|
We all have that sweater that we got as a holiday gift years ago and it sits in the back of our closet because it is weird or even just plain ugly. Well, today’s the day to break it out and celebrate its ugliness, as it’s Ugly Sweater Day!
Sweaters became a thing in the late 1800’s as every day where slowly evolved into what we have now. It was first defined in the Oxford Dictionary in 1882 as “A woolen vest or jersey worn in … athletic exercises, originally… to reduce one’s weight; now commonly put on also before or after exercise to prevent taking cold.”
