During the Boston Tea Party celebration at Grand Lodge tomorrow, December 16, 2023, Boston Layfayette Lodge of Perfection will perform one of their public degrees: Treason Against the Crown. Curtains drop at 10:00 a.m. sharp.
As we all know, the Thirteen Colonies won the American Revolutionary War but this was no easy task. When they took up arms and committed the nation on a path to freedom with the stroke of a quill, independence was not a foregone conclusion. The Founding Fathers pledged their “lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor” to the effort. These were men of great wealth and position, such as John Hancock who was one of the richest men in the colonies, and George Washington who reached the rank of Colonel in the British Army. This degree asks the question what if the revolution had failed and George Washington had been captured and tried by the British?
There will be festivities in Grand Lodge throughout the day and in Boston throughout the weekend. Grand Lodge is asking members to register for certain events at the link below.
