Abbott Scholarship Due This Month

The 2025-2026 Abbott Scholarship is due at the end of this month, by April 1, 2025. You don’t want your student to miss out of this! The scholarship helps students who are connected to the fraternity to continue their education at an accredited institution of higher education. Ill∴ Leon M. Abbott, whom the scholarship is named after, was a member of the Valley of Boston, the Thrice Potent Master of Boston Lafayette Lodge of Perfection from 1904 to 1906, and Sovereign Grand Commander of the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction from 1921 to 1932.

Our scholarships are investments in the future of both our country and fraternity. Students are eligible if they meet the following criteria:

Tutors Wanted for Children’s Dyslexia Centers

As most of you know, the Children’s Dyslexia Centers are nationally recognized for their dyslexia tutoring locations that provide intensive reading instruction for children in grades 1 through 12. The first such center was founded by M.W. J. Philip Berquist in Newtonville in 1992. M.W. Berquist was Thrice Potent Master of Lodge of Perfection from 1972-1975.

Our mission is to help as many students as we afford, as the students and their families are not charged anything for our services.

Lexington & Concord Revolution 250

Next month, Massachusetts Grand Lodge is recreating the famed events of the Battle of Lexington and Concord in honor of the 250 anniversary. Before exploring Grand Lodge’s plans, let’s dive into the history of Lexington and Concord.

After years of harsh taxes by the Crown to pay for the Seven Years’ War and the French and Indian War, the Massachusetts Bay Colony was in turmoil. Discontent with the taxes led the colony to revolt, destroying $1.7 million in tea, tarring and feathering tax collectors, and pushing for rebellion.
